I'd written a post about the seasonal greetings issue but since I went trolling through my archives and I found an entry I'd done a couple of years ago and read it I think I'll just post a link to that because my thoughts on the matter have not changed one bit: So it's almost Yule/Christmas/Whatever!. I'm not some humbug but you have to question the stupidity that Yule/Christmas/Whatever is causing these days. It's my firm belief that before I die we will have the thought police, the people that fine you for a bad thought. As laughable as it sounds how many people do you think actually feel guilty after someone berates them for saying Xmas and not seasonal greetings? If you ever felt bad then that's the thought police. Yeah right there doing there job. People just don't have a sense of pride anymore about the stuff they believe, no convictions. I don't believe in God but I appreciate other people do and I let them get on with it so when I say Happy Yule/Christmas it means just that because Seasonal Greetings just doesn't cut it for me. The Politically Correct people will just have to deal.

There still is with the admin system with the server and permissions (even though I reset them all back to what they should be) but it seems that it is now fixed for the comments at least. Thanks to StatVoid who posting about the new layout on his own blog because my comment system was fux0red. I'm actually really liking this layout. Well visually it has changed but content-wise it is laid out the same *shrugs*. Nothing really to post about; I'm back at work and still really enjoying that and I have a deadline to meet for one of the projects by the end of next week which will be tight(ish) as the code for it is already at over 20,000 lines and I still need to fully de-bug it all. Nightmare! It'll be great when it's finished though and will begin to save my department thousands of pounds a year not to mention increase productivity for other sections. Sounds all bloody corporate but it is the truth and if I explained you'd know why I'm writing that! However I am not, so tough. I've made a real effort not to talk directly about where I work because my belief is that my private life should stay that and my work life something different. Fact is I've seem plenty of bloggers get fired for things they write on blogs, in fact people being fired due to blogging is on the increase. Even in England!

These articles are meant to help others that perhaps come across similar issues I had with Debian/GNU Linux or development of some kind. Others might just be of a rather random nature. I will try to keep up with any questions, responses, comments and even flames added to them. I am however not resposible for any "rm -rf * type issues that might occur, consider the previous words as my legal disclaimer :-)
