Almost forgot I had a blog then. I've been so busy settling in to my new job that life is just flying at the moment. Training, new office, new job title, new systems and no time for anything other than working and sleeping!

Things have been somewhat, well, crazy at work in the last few weeks. Where I work has been starting the process of buying and implementing a content management system (CMS). Now in my current role I have been a part of that process by feeding in through various groups to get the job done. This has meant lots of meetings but it also meant two days away during the product selection process. Well we got through all that and selected a product. I can't talk about it and I won't because the first rule about tek's blog is you don't talk about work, you don't mention names, locations - you know how it works. Anyway suffice to say I'm happy with the selection and I think it'll do the job we need it to.

Well this is my first day back to work. I've been on leave for the last two weeks and I can tell you getting up this morning was no fun at all. I've been used to getting up at the more reasonable time of around 10am so a rude awakening by an alarm clock at the demonic hour of 7am was not very nice.

Today most of the folks where I work are on strike and I am not (nah I'm not a scab I'm just not in the union). I work in an office of 45+ people and there are presently three of us in to look after all those phones and the daily business of running the show. This promises to be a LONG and HARD day. No dinner for me more than likely and I probably won't leave until late. I work in the team that deals with PR and what not so I'm sure we can expect the papers on the phone as well.
