You know I'm getting sick of referrer spam in my logs. It makes trying to garner some basic web stats almost impossible. The latest trick is not just one URL being injected in to the referrer header but about a ga-billion (new numbers yay!). Of course the frequency is annoying. Take just now, I'm eating my dinner at work looking through my stats and I click the top referrer in my logs to see WTF it is because it has a sort of interesting to the everyday person type name and I'm AT WORK. Needless to say it isn't SFW! @$#! Stupid STUPID spammers.

Picture of a take-away cup of coffee from workYes that would be me. Sadly I left my wallet at home this morning but didn't realise until I'd already got to the canteen with a brew. With a large queue of folks behind me and you know you can always tell what people think in a situation like that. I know because I think it myself. Suffice to say that five quid lighter I returned to work having gotten a taxi to go get said wallet, to get said brew = late for work. Stupid idiot.

You know if I am not winning the Euro Lottery everyday then I'm being told I need a bigger, longer lasting hard-on. You know what? I really don't; thankfully. I did have to laugh today though when I got a nice spam telling me that these tablets would, err, keep me up and ready for 36 hours. Now correct me if I am wrong but that can't be good unless you're a pornstar. I mean can you imagine me going to work, in an office with 50 other people (and it's an open office not a cube farm) walking around going to meetings and so on with a raging hard-on? I think it would be an exceptionally BAD IDEA. I mean I don't believe the 36hr thing but how inconvenient if it were true. You just couldn't do anything normal; I mean how the feck would you go to the loo? Crackers!

I had real trouble getting out of bed this morning for some reason. Dunno why as I went to bed at a pretty reasonable time this morning heh... I've not really done a post because I've had a lot going on outside work. Currently I am doing a few freelance jobs and one in particular is medium sized and with a short(ish) deadline so my time is being taken up with that. The newest one involves me writing a custom system so its making for an interesting job. Sometimes freelancing can be boring with nothing but run-of-the-mill sites that require no thinking and it's those type of sites that I hate doing. I like jobs that actually tax my brain and make me think of new ways of achieving things.

These articles are meant to help others that perhaps come across similar issues I had with Debian/GNU Linux or development of some kind. Others might just be of a rather random nature. I will try to keep up with any questions, responses, comments and even flames added to them. I am however not resposible for any "rm -rf * type issues that might occur, consider the previous words as my legal disclaimer :-)
